Melian is three months old today.
Time passes by so quickly. To think just three months ago (and about 18 hours) I was cradling her in my arms for the first time. It does not seem possible that she has already grown so fast and so far. The little baby who just wanted to curl into you has turned into a little lady very curious about the world about her, who more or less refuses to sleep in the day out of apparent fear of missing out on something.
Really. It is an amazing thing to see Melian brought into a new environment. Her eyes open wide and she looks wildly about, trying to take it all in. That is not all. She has started to grab things, and one feels she is on the verge of starting to play with her own toys (though she is not quite there yet).
The best thing in the world though is when I come home from work, and recognises me, and she smiles. A smile that melts my heart. Yes, I am firmly wrapped around her little finger 🙂
Melian also now has her first clearly developed interest. We do not know how long it will last of course, but it has been constant for several week now – horses. As soon as she realises there are horses on the television it takes her attention. She is fascinated by them. In fact she marvels at all animals – we had a David Attenborough documentary on at one point and she spent over an hour transfixed by the creatures on the screen. Nothing yet, however, beats the horses.
